Clinician
Reeve joins GE Family Services as a Clinician to work with teens and adults dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, neurodivergence, and substance use, and other issues. He provides telehealth services throughout Alaska.

I’m a pre-licensed psychotherapist and art therapist with a passion for working with individuals across the lifespan, from teens to adults. My specialties include supporting teens with neurodevelopmental disorders, as well as adults navigating substance use, anxiety, wartime trauma, and identity concerns. I offer individual, couples, and family therapy, using an integrative approach that combines traditional psychotherapy with expressive modalities. I believe that blending these approaches, particularly art therapy, creates an optimal environment for healing, especially for those struggling with PTSD and nonverbal autism spectrum disorder (ASD). A strong therapeutic relationship is at the core of my practice, as I know it’s essential for fostering trust, safety, and growth.

I graduated from the Alfred Adler Graduate School in Minnetonka, MN, where I honed my skills as a clinical mental health counselor while exploring my deep belief in the power of holistic healing. Originally from Minnesota, I’ve always had a strong connection to my roots, including the importance of my relationships with family, friends, and nature. These connections serve as a foundation for my work and remind me of the central role relationships play in the healing process.

My professional journey began in nursing, where I worked in the neurology department at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital. However, my experiences within the healthcare system, particularly with the disease-based model of medicine, led me to reassess how we approach healing. I realized that healthcare often focuses more on managing symptoms than addressing the root causes of illness. This, combined with concerns about the over-reliance on medication in mental health care, prompted me to shift my focus to psychotherapy, where I could work to heal the whole person mind, body, and spirit while also prioritizing my own work-life balance.

In therapy, I draw from a variety of modalities, including creative art therapy, Gestalt, Adlerian, person-centered, and narrative therapy, to help clients explore their inner world, process past trauma, and reframe their experiences. I also incorporate research on epigenetic trauma, neuroscience, and the physiology of the stress response to deepen my understanding of how trauma and stress impact the body and mind. These scientific perspectives allow me to guide clients through healing in a way that is informed by both clinical practice and the latest research on how trauma affects our biology and behavior.

I take a holistic approach to mental health, integrating lifestyle practices such as exercise, nutrition, and minimal pharmacological intervention as key components of overall well-being. I believe that physical health supports mental wellness, and I work with clients to explore how changes in these areas can improve emotional regulation and healing. Additionally, I am trained in Enhanced Illness Management and Recovery Foundations (E-IMR) and Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment (IDDT), which enables me to offer specialized support to those facing mental health and substance use challenges.

In addition to my private practice, I work closely with my life partner, Lou, who is also a psychotherapist. Together, we often work with couples, bringing a collaborative and dynamic approach to relationship therapy. Our shared passion for helping others is a cornerstone of both our professional and personal lives.

Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, identity concerns, or navigating a difficult life transition, I’m here to support you with compassion, evidence-based practices, and a holistic approach. Together, we can explore your unique experiences and work toward a healthier, more fulfilling life. To learn more about me, feel free to visit my website: https://www.loulure.com/reeve.
