Clinician
Zachary joins GE Family Services as a Clinician to work with those 18 years and older dealing with anxiety, depression, religious trauma and other challenging family situations. He provides telehealth services throughout Alaska.

I am Zach, a person-centered therapist for adults of all ages. I am dedicated to guiding individuals on their journey toward mental wellness and personal empowerment. I believe in providing a safe and nonjudgmental space for people to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences through telehealth sessions. Drawing from evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and solution-focused therapy, I tailor our sessions to meet the unique needs and goals of every individual.

I bring a diverse background to my therapeutic practice, having worked in crisis recovery, community mental health, and higher education, as well as retail and food service. Prior to my degree in mental health, I attended seminary, which along with my experience working in various churches, has provided me with unique insights into the intersection of faith and mental health. It has also shown me the pain that has been inflicted on many people by those who use religion for personal influence. I have experience working with people of all ages, and all walks of life. I have a passion for working with people through life's changes and challenges.

My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts (including suicidal ideation), relationship issues, perfectionism, self-esteem building, phobias, religious trauma recovery, and more. Though I do not currently work with children or families, I have significant experience working with children and teens in crisis. I have worked with people from ages 3 through 93 with all the challenges and changes life has to offer. Clients struggling with anxiety and depression will find compassionate support and evidence-based techniques to manage symptoms, challenge negative thought patterns, and cultivate resilience. Through collaborative exploration, we will uncover underlying factors contributing to your emotional distress, empowering you to create positive changes and live a more fulfilling life.

As a therapist, I strongly believe in self-care. Some of my hobbies include reading fiction, gaming, writing, watching too many movies/ too much tv, and enjoying Alaska's outdoors, slowly. My wife hikes, and calls what I do walking. I greatly enjoy sci-fi, superheroes, and Lego. If I must choose, I am a dog person, but I quite like cats. I have other points of interests we might share, but what I love most, is helping people.

If you would like to take steps toward positive change with me, consider scheduling a telehealth session through our website.
